Court the Vote
Client:
Empirical Media & The Justice Project PAC
Where:
Wisconsin & North Carolina
A multi-state voting rights project ensuring that voters have access to accurate information about judicial races and the dangers of court corruption.
I worked with my longtime collaborators at Empirical Media to leverage print and digital media to fight back against rigged maps and billionaire-bought elections and candidates.
I designed the brand, logo, paid media ads, and graphics. We also produced print materials for an in-person action here in North Carolina.
WHAT I DID
☑ Logo Design
☑ Brand Identity
☑ Art Direction
☑ Paid Media Design
☑ Poster Design
☑ Banner Design
The initial focus of the campaign was Wisconsin’s Supreme Court election, the most expensive judicial election in U.S. history.
We aimed to expose Elon Musk’s attempt to buy Brad Schimel a seat which would have furthered Musk’s far-right, anti-choice, deregulatory agenda. The multi-channel creative content encouraged Wisconsin voters to stand up against authoritarianism by knocking on doors and joining phone banks, and progressives won!
After the Wisconsin victory, the campaign shifted focus to North Carolina where the concerns centered around ending corruption in the NC court system, namely the Supreme Court attacking voting rights, overturning fair maps, and blocking duly-elected justices.
In addition to designing a dynamic brand identity and consulting on the website design for Court the Vote, I designed a series of paid ads for social media along with posters and a banner for an in-person action. The action was covered by local news, and the print materials helped communicate a strong united front against corruption.
